Broadway star William Gillette, admired for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when a guest is stabbed, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks turn deadly. It’s up to Gillette, assuming the persona of his most famous role, to track down the killer before another victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop as one tantalizing clue leads to another in this glittering 1936 whodunit.
